I just read something peculiar today and if this is true we have the BEST police force on the entire planet, oh wait, no the whole galaxy! Seriously!…not.csihu

Hungary’s finest – that would be the coppers – said in a definite tone that the gun that was used during the shooting of a Roma (Gypsy) woman and her child was the same gun that was used at two other shootings of Romas. So why was I a bit sceptic? Me who has been watching almost every single CSI episodes ever created? Because the gun in question is a shotgun. For those of you who have no idea why this is significant: CSIs ID a gun from the striae/groove on the bullet after it has passed through the barrel of the gun. A shotgun shoots out pellets and there is absolutely no way of identifying which gun it has been fired out from. (more…)

We are slowly paving our way to the 2010 FIFA Football World Cup.*unenthusiastic* Yay! As a celebration let’s discover a bit more about Hungarian football, shall we? Do not worry if you do not like football this post, however seems like it, will not be about our ‘national sport’.

Ferenc "Puskás Öcsi"

Ferenc "Puskás Öcsi" Purczeld Bíró, the Legend

Almost everyone who is into football (this is soccer for you guys from the other side of the world 😀 ) knows Hungarian football=Puskás. The legendary striker of the Hungarian national team and Real Madrid has sadly passed away in 2006. His era – the Hungarian Golden Team‘s era – is long over now for decades but football is still loved and – in my humble opinion – a bit too spoiled by the people even when the quality could only be described with a four letter world starting with S and ending with HIT. We excel in many other sports yet it is still football that gets the most air time on TV…but that’s another story. Let’s make a quick twist into the field where I am a better player. (more…)

I am slowly recharging. Hurray! This means soon I will have enough energy to spam the net constantly with my looooong ramblings. But first, let’s make that little backlog disappear. I have promised you pictures of the continuation of the April 5th protests so here they are.

About 1500 people gathered in front of the Parlament 5th April demanding new elections...as usual they were ignored

Have you ever tried to anticipate the next move of an irrational person? It only gives you a headache, doesn’t it? And unless you are irrational yourself or a brainiac like John Nash you have no chance to succeed.

Lately one of my favourite past-time activities is watching poor political analysts trying to guess the next step of MSZP, SZDSZ, Gyurcsány and Bajnai. The only defining rational in the thought process of said two parties’ and the ‘dynamic duo’s is to hold onto power as strong as possible. But analysts always have a compulsory disorder to try and find the underlying issues that make a political system move. It is immensely funny to watch them try to figure out some conspiracy going on behind the scenes. Perhaps they are right but I lean more towards the wisdom that ‘commies never have any idea of what they are doing’. (more…)

Here we go. One more reason I can call SZDSZ a bunch of spineless cowards. They said yes to Gordon Bajnai. Yet again the will of The People is ignored in Hungary.

Weasel turned Devil, Bajnai our new PM (well a very likely one as of now)

Weasel turned Devil, Bajnai our new PM (well a very likely one as of now)

The left-wing has this crazy idea to make the people suffer for what they and the banks have messed up. They knew they needed a butcher, a soulless, spineless man who believes that what he is doing – no matter how many demonstrations were to come – is for the good of the people (even if it isn’t). In this sentiment, Gordon Bajnai is the perfect man for the job. He is a good buddy of many man currently at power, a businessman who made his big break during the times of privatisation (like many of the political elite in Hungary). (more…)

A typical Gyurcsány pose

A typical Gyurcsány pose

Ferenc Gyurcsány our ‘beloved’ PM is finally resigning. These following lines in italic are the production of BBC and their “analysts” that this post will correct with the eyes and fingers of an earthling who actually lives in this mess called Hungary. The original piece of news can be found here. And to comment it quickly: no, I’m not happy because what the country wants is new elections, this ‘obstacle’ going is just a typical socialist (communist) parade of pretending that they are actually doing something (they did the same in 2004 with Medgyessy going and Gyurcsány coming). Same old shit just a different name. So on with the corrections:

“But weeks of riots erupted when he revealed on a leaked tape in September 2006 that he had lied about the nation’s poor finances to win re-election.”

Correction. He had lied about the nation’s poor finances too and about everything they have done in the previous years. I know, I know, politicians are acute liars but they usually lie about their own ‘hard earned’ wages, adultery, who they are friends with and why they launch a war against other countries. There is a difference between a lie and a lie. There is the type of lie that embarrasses a party, a person and there is the Gyurcsány kind of lie that pushes a country into an economical disaster. How? He covered his lies by taking enormous amounts of loans from various countries and got us into an even worse dept spiral than we were already in. This was before the crunch. And it is the reason why the country and our currency is in a huge pile of poop…

“Correspondents say that although Mr Gyurcsany had reduced the budget deficit, he had failed to win public support for wider economic reforms.”

Reduced the budget deficit???  Obviously the dear ‘correspondents’ have no idea how things go around here.  Let me share a secret with you, Gyurcsány’s deficit reducing secret! He lied. It would not be the first time (see 2006 and every single time he opened his big mouth). (more…)

Probably missed one or more snow(s) from the title since today is more than the 4th or 5th snow we have had this winter. Odd. Last year there was 0…well, not for me ’cause in Latvia the days that it was not snowing were less than those when it was…but this little city of Budapest never was famous of big snows. It used to be when I was a kid but lately…

“as for global warming well just kick ass wearing shades!”

What a messed up planet this is getting as days go by. But then the UN will solve everything…like Darfur, Rwanda etc . Maybe one day we will start preventing bad things from happening. Hopefully before we mess up everything for good.
